Our Mission

To reduce isolation and poverty and increase a sense of dignity among older adults in our community;

To support mental, physical, spiritual, financial, and relational wholeness for older adults.

Outreach to and engage seniors who are isolated and at risk.

Engage seniors in on‐site mental health or substance abuse prevention/intervention services and/or referral for treatment services and support groups and services as needed.

It took a lot of hard work and many sacrifices for MURPHYS to create it’s own Senior Center. Through the work of dozens of community members, a supportive Faith Lutheran Church, a startup grant from the Wheatridge Foundation and one driven agent of change, Pastor Doug Merritt, MSC opened it’s doors June 27, 2009. Since then the Center has grown to offer 10 different groups, a wonderfully supportive staff and still the Best Lunch in the West!

The Murphys Senior Center (MSC) has become the favorite gathering place for many retirees, with programs geared to older adults MSC offers lunch, exercise activities, educational events, and games such as pinochle. Please see our monthly calendar for an updated schedule.
